So I've noticed this problem over the years and I wonder if anyone else has observed the same. Let's say you take a dose of percies or vics (a normal prescribed dosage, like 10 mg or so). You have a nice little buzz and then it starts to wear off after 2 or 3 hours (3 is being generous), so you take another say...5 mg or even 10mg. But the buzz never "reboots". You're stuck with the same feeling, just maybe a bit loopier and/or "drugged" feeling. Is there anyway to recreate the same nice buzz as before or are you just pretty much stuck in limbo? Or...am I the only one who seems to experience this? lol. Thanks for any input. I do remember someone telling me years ago that whatever dose you take is what you're stuck with. They said if you took 5 mg...you're stuck with the buzz of 5 mg. Regardless of if you take another 10 mg thereafter, you'll never attain the "15 mg buzz". I wonder if that's true. Input?

Hey there!

Lots of questions in there, but  you know, I'm not really the guy to answer although I think I understand what it is your trying to achieve.

For my ways were that of the dark side !

You're certainly not the only one , what you are describing is called "building tolerance ", happens to just about every one,  with every type of substance.

I would disagree with the "someone ", you spoke with year's ago.  Think about it. If you're talking 5mg of something several times a day for an extended period of time,  then one morning, you decide to take 30 mg several times a day, I bet you would notice a difference. Not necessarily good,  not necessarily bad, but definitely different.

I know Xanax helps potentiate a little.  I am going to try the grapefruit juice and will let you know how it works.

Ths happens to everyone, I understand what ur saying. It's a long explanation of biochemistry and receptors etc, but put simply if you're looking to get that same "first time buzz" throughout the day, it won't happen. You can definitely add more and get a whole lot more effects, but what you're asking is "Can I achieve that same feeling as the 1st pill I took today?" - the answer is no. Simply put you're now stacking more opi@tes onto receptors that already have some attached, so you won't get the same 1st hit buzz, as when they are empty. The reason the first one of the day feels different is your body has had time to clean out the system while you sleep. Your receptors are being cleared out, and your probably taking your first morning p!ll after 8 hours or more without a dose.

The 2-3 hours your talking about is because of the half life of the op1@te in question. The 2 you named are around 4-6 hours on avg, and as tolerance builds you'll feel the euph@ric effect for less time.

H addicts go thru this, (I was one for many years), the best hit of the day was the first one. It's the only hit that goes you a "rush", the rest will still boost your high and you will feel it, but not the same as the first hit of the day.

idk who told you "you're stuck with a 5mg buzz" that makes no sense. You will def feel it with a larger dose, but please be careful, chasing that original high is why we become addicts. And it's why we OD. If you're using for pleasure, Enjoy, but do so carefully and responsibly. You're dealing with potent and dangerous n@racotics. If it's for pain management and isn't working talk to your doc about a proper dose increase.

Idk your tolerance or experience but my advice is dont go adding things like benzos for the sole purpose of trying to reach that buzz you want. You're still not gonna get it, and it's the mixing of n@rcs that cause most OD related deaths.

I enjoy all manner of sex, drugs and rock n roll ;) myself, Just remember to do it safely, and to respect the dangers of what you're doing. Don't jump from 5mgs to 50, etc. Just try this instead- wait 8-10 hours between doses. You'll feel that later dose much more like the "first hit buzz" you're looking for. It will also help keep your tolerance down. Bst of luck, enjoy, and be safe.

Very well said, thank you so much for posting this for this poster and many other. To many people do this sort of thing without realizing just how much they do put themselves in danger, just to chase the first high of the day...

Very good info. Thanks! That definitely makes sense. I never take more than a 10 or 15 mg dose of either percs or vics anyway. I was just curious. But the receptor thing does, for sure make sense. Just have to relish that first dose for the first 3 or 4 hours and accept that's as good as it's gonna get. B)
