Hi iv been dealing with depression and anxiety for years. When I was 21 i got into opiates bc of my depression and anxiety problem. I took Opana ER 40mg they were amazing for about a year until i got addicted. I went down hill fast, stealing money from family and selling my car for dope money it was bad. I went to rehab for about 2weeks. It was one of those Church rehabs were they make you work labor jobs and find God. It was no good for me, try working while withdrawing. So i came home and relapsed. So i look into Suboxone and get a doctor and iv went 8 months clean on subs then relapse. After relape i stayed on subs and decied im going to do this right. Ever since then iv been clean for 3 yrs on subs. I know now i cant go back to that lifstyle bc im 24 and im just getting my family's trust. So im on Effoxer ER 225mg. It helps with my depression. Since iv been on subs i dont do anything i have no social life. I dont like going anywere, even like the grocery store bc of my axeinty. I was wondering if i  should get a script of Xanax? and use them the right way. Or should i stay away and find something else for my anxiety. Iv tryed benzos before and nvr got addicted. Im on temazpam 30mg for sleep but sometimes i take it when i have to socialize and it helps out sooo much. Any feedback would be great Thanks

In sorry your struggling with anxiety to the point where you don't want to leave the house. I've been there before. How many mg of sub are you on? I know that when I was prescribed 2mg of sub for pain, it made me very lazy and tired and I didn't want to do much of anything just as you described. Maybe your taking too much? I find that when I take about .5 mg on days that I've ran out of my pk's, it lifts my mood. There is something in it that helps with depression. I've done a lot of research on it and read that they are currently testing it on people for depression. And it might be prescribed for that in the near future. As for the anxiety, I too suffer from that greatly. X@n@x is great for those trips to the grocery store and social gatherings or job interviews. It's great to take on an as needed basis. But to be taken every day, I would be very careful with this one. It's super fast acting, and you can build a quick tolerance to it where you will end up needing more and more. Then when it stops working for you your screwed. But like I said as needed like two or three times a week, you'd be fine. I personally think x@n@x is the best out of all the b3nz0z for panic attacks and situations that cause anxiety. Just don't take it everyday and you will be just fine.

Subs never made me tired but then I took 1/3 of what was prescribed a day after reading and researching I found out that doctors often prescribe a much higher dose than needed.  Especially since subs have a "ceiling effect" and less is better.  Because of the ceiling effect it is very easy to taper down to a lower dose without any withdrawals or discomfort.  I was prescribed 12mg. a day and that made me tired and out of it so I went down to 4 mg. (2mg. twice a day) and that was perfect.  I would not take xans if I were you because they are very addictive and withdrawal from them is so much worse than from pain meds.

Don't mix subs and benzos. It says right on the paper the pharmacy gives you: MIXING THIS MEDICATION WITH BENZO'S CAN CAUSE INSTANT DEATH. Do not do it. If your doc gives you a script, cool. If not NO.

I agree. It always says not to mix subs and b3nz. It can cause resperitory depression. I was being perscribed both my sub, 6mg kpin and 2mg x@n for breakthrough anxiety. At the time I didn't read up on anything cuz the same Dr was giving me both. there are many people that are prescribed both and are fine. But, I had a tolerance, So I guess I'm lucky, nothing bad ever happened to me. But it is a gamble. IMHO, If you do get a script for it, start off at the smallest dose possible to avoid resperitory depression. I remember that my bf at the time was telling me that it seemed my breathing was really shallow when I slept. And that actually scared me. So just be careful.

Benzos do make you more social. They turn you into the person you want to be. Whether its the social butterfly, the good mother, or just the person that can comfortably leave their house. At the same time, that's exactly why they are SO addictive. I've been addicted to everything man. And I mean everything. Xanax is the only thing I haven't been able to quit. (Aside from MM).

If your quality of life is so bad that its not worth living, i would definitely give it a shot. But if you feel theres any way you can be happy without benzos, i wouldnt go down that road man. Just one mans humble opinion. I would give 200k cash right now to have never taken a xanax in the first place. And thats my entire net worth. Lol
